Due to increasing busyness, many offices are having problems with food. Some offices do not have a place to prepare food, there are no people to prepare it, some do not have time to go out for food due to the pressure of work.
Keeping this in mind, 21-year-old Safal Bhattarai of Mandandeupur Municipality-11, Timalsina village of Kavre has been running the 'How delicious!' food business.
Safal has been doing food production and delivery in Baneshwar, Kathmandu for two years. He said that he started this business with the aim of providing 'lunch-meal' facilities especially in offices. "I was seeing the problem of food and snacks in many offices, so the business was started with the idea of 'cloud kitchen'," he says. He is currently providing services under contract with 7 offices. "We are delivering meals to 200 regular customers daily as per the order," he said, "We have also paid attention to the quality, the main objective is to provide healthy food to the customers." He understands that there is a lot of difference between the situation when he started the
business and how far he has come. "The first thing that comes to mind when you think of lunch is 'mashm, chowmin', it used to be the choice of most people," he said, "but this understanding is wrong, times have changed, healthy food is more preferred than delicious." According to him, the customers are more interested in food like bread, vegetables, kheer, halwa, fruits and salad. He has experience that it is difficult to win the hearts of customers in this business. "Eating is directly connected with health," he said, "If something goes wrong with food, health can deteriorate, that's why we are paying special attention to healthy food." He has expanded the structure and investment. "It will be very difficult to raise the business," he said He said that he was in loss. According to him, there was a loss of about 2 lakhs at that time.
He said that the users of social media are increasing recently and they have worked to increase the attractiveness of customers by putting promotional content on social media. "After placing promotional material on social media, the business has increased a bit," Safal said, ""First, we used to come to the office looking for customers, but now customers come looking for us."
According to him, the business is doing well now because the customers are satisfied. He is doing a monthly business of 6 lakh rupees from food business. He said that the profit would be Rs 2 lakh. He is also employing 7 people. "Because the business is good, some more organizations are trying to join us for the contract, but due to the limited resources and manpower we have now, we have not been able to contract," said Safal.
Successful people have not achieved the success they have today easily. After several failed attempts, he moved to food business. Safal's father works in the village to collect and market vegetables and fruits. The only son of the family, Sufal, saw his father's work and wanted to do business. Business and artistry were his areas of interest.
After completing SLC, he came to Banepa for higher education. Along with studying, I thought of doing business and started an online clothing business. Also did some background work in films and telefilms. The online clothing business was doing well for some time. Due to the global spread of covid, business has been affected. "Due to the effects of Corona, it became difficult to run an online business, I couldn't pay the loan, I paid the loan by selling my phone and earring," he said.
Then Safal thought of raising chickens in Banepa in partnership. "Everything was arranged," he said, "all the preparations were completed to launch the chicken, but at the last moment the partner said that he would not cooperate." I did not have the courage to do the business alone, so I decided not to do the poultry business. After that he came to Kathmandu for higher education and started food business from June 2079. "If you work hard and persevere, it seems that the future is golden in Nepal itself," he said.
