Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, who has to lead the administration of emergency rescue and relief arrangements while the country is facing disaster due to floods, was busy paying respects with garlands and food in different places of home district Syangja.

Generally, the Chief Secretary cannot leave the capital when the Prime Minister is not in the country, even though the forecast division of the Meteorological Department warned the citizens and state agencies that the incessant rain could cause disaster a week ago, the Chief Secretary Aryal reached Syangja on Friday. Aryal was enjoying the program organized in his honor when the capital city was submerged by the flood and the landslide buried the passenger bus and could not be rescued. A source close to Singh said that Chief Secretary Aryal did not even pick up the phone while Deputy Prime Minister and Cooperative Development Minister Prakashman Singh, who has also held the charge of the Prime Minister in the capital since

Incessant rain started across the country from Thursday night, and on Friday and Saturday heavy rains caused floods, landslides and inundation in various parts of the country including Kathmandu Valley. As of Monday afternoon, the number of people who have died due to floods and drowning has reached 200. 127 people are injured and 26 people are missing. Affected by floods  More than 4,222 people have been rescued by security personnel.
