Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle has made arrangements in the budget for government grants to nationally recognized parties.
Presenting the budget in Parliament, he said, "A strong foundation of transparency and accountability will be built in the political system. We will have a comprehensive debate on providing government grants to nationally recognized political parties based on the votes in the last general election to institutionalize healthy democratic competition," he said. Arrangements will be made for the Auditor General to audit the amount thus available.
