The government has allocated Rs 12.31 billion for the forest, environment and climate sectors. Presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2083/84, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle said that the policy has been adopted to issue clean energy bonds and diaspora bonds and to make maximum use of the available climate funds. About Rs 1 billion has been allocated to conserve water resources and conduct activities such as pond construction, landslide control, and embankment construction to make the water cycle in the Chure and Terai Madhesh regions sustainable. Finance Minister Wagle said that the work of determining the support price for herbs and non-timber forest products and starting the purchase will begin, and an herb processing center will be established in Karnali. The government plans to implement a result-based Red Plus program for emission reduction by giving priority to local communities in the benefits received for reducing carbon emissions. Finance Minister Wagle also said that arrangements will be made for the private sector to access the concessional capital of the International Climate Fund. 

The government has mentioned in the budget that it will use drones and satellites to exchange real-time information for fire control, and that it will run a human-wildlife coexistence program in risky areas. 

Finance Minister Wagle said that air pollution measurement centers and central environmental laboratories will be upgraded in major cities.
