The National Bank has directed to keep limited banking services operational even during this year's Holi and election holidays. The National Bank issued a notice on Sunday and directed to keep limited banking transactions open.
According to the directive, even on holidays, banks and financial institutions will have to operate banking services including payment arrangements and revenue collection through commercial banks designated for government transactions, and depositing and paying cash, checks or other exchange instruments of political parties and candidates for election campaigns.
The National Bank has clarified that the directive was issued based on the request of the Election Commission.
