Hip Hop and Music Videos from AI

In April last year, rapper Drake drew widespread criticism when he used AI to produce a song featuring the voices of Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg. Drake removed the song from his official online channels after it appeared to cause legal trouble.

Later, someone made a song from AI with the lyrics "Heart on my sleeve" in his own voice. This too became controversial.

Snoop Dogg himself was surprised moments after Drake released a song featuring Tupac and his voice. He said, 'Who did what? When? How? Really? He wrote a post on Instagram saying, 'I went to sleep, good night'. The late Tupac's lawyer warned that Drake would be sued for misappropriating another person's voice. As a result, Drake was forced to remove the song "Taylor Made Freestyle" from his social media account.

Snoop Dogg, who has been mocking his AI voice, later released a music video made from AI. "That's how it is in hip-hop, we only set limits until someone reaches the limit," Snoop said in the context of Drake, "I'm going to do something now, I'm going to spoil something." Six months later, a music video made using AI was released in Snoop's song done While Drake was criticized for using

AI to abuse another person's reputation, Snoop's video was reviewed as a not so unusual use of AI. Recently, many hip-hop artists, including Drake and Snoop, have started experimenting with AI technology. Just this week, Ye West (formerly known as Kanye West) released an AI-generated video for his song titled '530'. In the video, West analyzes his views on plastic surgery, social conflict and ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

West previously made a music video for the song 'Bomb' with his two daughters, North and Chicago, using AI. In it, his daughters are seen chasing animal-like characters in a vehicle that looks like Elon Musk's Cybertruck. Although the girls in the

video looked stunning, West was criticized for using AI to create the scene. 'I wonder if you've seen Kanye West's video?' A fan wrote on social media, 'I find it hard to believe that this singer made an AI video of his own minor daughters.' And logic-seeking creators are increasingly using the technique, both fully and partially, in music videos or other artistic mediums.

West along with hip-hop artists like Travis Scott seem excited about the use of AI in music. While the trending artists of 2024 such as J Cole, Kendrick Lamar are suspicious of the use of AI, Drake, Cardi B and others have started to hold the opinion that the use of AI does not make a difference in the promotion of genres such as hip-hop in order not to let the creator's creativity die. With platforms like

Kyber, LTX Studio, Pictory, the trend of using AI companies in big budget music videos is becoming more and more popular. Most of the music videos seem to be getting help from AI, albeit partially. Not only hip-hop, but other genres of music are also starting to embrace AI.

The AI-based video called 'Feels Like I'm Falling in Love' made by the famous band 'Coldplay' was spent around 3.5 million US dollars.

About $2.8 million for Eminem's hip-hop music video 'Hodini', $2.5 million for Travis Scott's 'Virtual Reality' music video, $2.2 million for West's 'AI Dreams' music video and Lil Nas X's 'Future' The media mentioned that about 2 million US dollars were spent on the music video called Visions are.

Among these, Eminem's song has nearly 200 million views on YouTube, while the songs of hip-hop creators such as Travis, West, Lil Nas, Synthwave Collective have also managed to collect millions of views. FN Meka, Grimes and Lil Nas and Travis Scott of the hip-hop genre, who will also monitor the singer's performance, have made music based on AI and made a music video for the same.

AI-based hip-hop music made using platforms like Suno, Bumi, Soundr, Aiva, and Mubert has also performed well on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Eminem's song 'Hodini' was streamed nearly 60 million times on Spotify in the first two weeks of its release.

Similarly, Becky's AI-based song called 'Por El Contrario' has also garnered nearly 320 million views. Especially the young generation has become adept at making songs of late creators or their favorite hip-hop singers in their own style and putting them on streaming platforms through short or long videos.
