The government has allocated a budget of 1.6 billion rupees for the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens in the coming financial year. It has been announced that the 'Prime Minister's Daughter Self-Reliance Program' will be launched as a new program. 100 crores have been allocated to provide employment-oriented education and skills to girls through this program, which is run under the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens.
Presenting the budget for the financial year 2081/82 in the joint house of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday, Finance Minister Barshman Pun said that the government will conduct the program in coordination and cooperation with the provincial and local levels. Chandrakala Paudel, the spokeswoman of the ministry, said that this program was introduced to target income generation for women in the age group of 18 to 40 years.
