The heart of Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, is the sacred garden area. Many other things are added to make it good and beautiful. World renowned Japanese architect Professor Kenzo Tange designed the Lumbini Development Master Plan to make Lumbini a source of world peace and a spiritual destination.

It is mentioned in the master plan to create a circular canal, water and garden inside the holy garden area. Buddhist philosophy is reflected in everything he designs. There is a semblance of peace. Everything is not understood at a glance, but when you search deeply, you will find the proximity of peace.

Some of the structures currently under construction, including the circular canal built in Lumbini, are based on the concept of round, half round, circle, half circle, semi circle and square. It is deeply concerned with the philosophical side of Buddha. Nagarjuna, a Buddhist yogi from around the first century, interpreted Buddhist teachings as nihilism.

Nothingness is nihilism. Every moment of it is changing. The end is where we started. There is a cycle before birth and after death. That is nihilism. It is said that the concept of Golo Nahar was made keeping in mind that eternity.

Let's not build physical structures within the Lumbini area. Let's conserve plants and gardens in general. Because, to come to Lumbini is to realize eternity. It is mentioned that Buddha told his followers including Ananda to go to Chardham after his death. "First you should go to Lumbini. Learn that too with reverence and devotion," it is mentioned in the Buddhist teachings, "Not by looking at my face, but by being aware of the teachings. In this way, if you are absorbed in devotion and my teachings, you will realize eternity.'

It is said that Kenzo Tange may have brought the concept of a round canal inside the holy garden in this 'concept'. That's why it is mentioned in the master plan to make the structure as simple and normal as possible without making gardens etc. that attract the eye.

The main entrance to Lumbini is from the north. Even though gate numbers are allotted now, there is no such arrangement in the master plan. Crossing the Harhewa Nala and entering the cultural center is the vehicle parking area. The Lumbini Cultural Center is where the present Lumbini Museum and Lumbini International Research Center are located. Then it is mentioned to enter the Mayadevi temple in the pleasant environment of shady trees passing through both sides of the central canal. Similarly, it is mentioned that benches, resting places, drinking places and toilets should be built on both sides of the central canal.

The idea that the pilgrims who go there should automatically feel that they are entering the mundane spiritual world has been envisioned in the master plan. Similarly, what is Pragya ie life? Tange has tried to show in physical form what is transience, what we are most dependent on, how we are suffering from that dependence and how we can get rid of it.

From the central canal to the Mayadevi temple, it is necessary to place a board-banner that teaches the teachings of the Buddha in a simple way in different languages. In the same way, the Buddha Sutra can be heard in a melodious tune. Let the devout worshiper feel that they are entering the birthplace of the Buddha.

Tange has also recommended what kind of trees to plant in the central canal based on the suggestions of botanists. Here he suggests to plant trees that always provide greenery and shade. Now it is very difficult to walk to and fro on the central canal during summer. Arrangements have been made to bring/take the disabled, elderly, sick and those unable to walk to the Central Canal by boat. It is suggested that this boat should not be driven by machines but by humans.

Foreign pilgrims coming to Lumbini are facing a lot of problems at the Nepal-India border area. Indian immigration has made it very difficult to come to Nepal. There is a situation where you have to fill a long form and face the same problem while returning. Digital form filling is arranged at the border.

which is in English language. This is also causing problems for foreign pilgrims who do not know and understand English. Some pilgrims come without mobile phones, it is more difficult for them. Those who come in groups are given even more trouble. In the name of filling this form, a group has to sit on the 6/6 hour limit.

Now 97 percent of foreign pilgrims coming to Lumbini come through India. Even Indian travel agents are said to be baffled by the border problem. From where foreign pilgrims enter Nepal, it is important to make a plan to provide a spiritual environment.

Lumbini Gate has been built at Buddha Chowk in Bhairahawa. Very good and excellent craftsmanship has been used. This marks the beginning of Lumbini. But then the factories, industries, dust and black mist seen on the road, with the enthusiasm and excitement pilgrims are coming here, will start to get depressed and stressed.

This also does not send a good message to Lumbini. This is also hampering the tourism development of Lumbini. However, let's not delay in spreading the message that Lumbini is a must visit destination to make life positive and give energy of peace.
