Seventeen candidates, including three independents, have registered their candidacies in Ramechhap for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21.
According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Keshari Shrestha from the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWP), Shyam Kumar Shrestha from the Nepali Communist Party, Gore Tamang from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPPP) and Krishnahari Budhathoki from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) have registered their candidacies.
Similarly, Madhav Prasad Dhungel from the CPN (UML), Arjun Bahadur Thapa Magar from the Rastriya Janamorcha, Dhal Bahadur Khapangi Magar from the Shram Sanskriti Party and Ram Chandra Khadka from the Nepali Congress have registered their nominations.
Yam Bahadur Moktan from the National Republic Party, Deep Bahadur Yonjan from the Ujjaya Nepal Party, and Birendra Shrestha from the Progressive Democratic Party have registered their candidacies. Similarly, Padam Bahadur Tamang from the Aam Janata Party, Binod Ghising from the Mongol National Organization, and Yamun Bahadur Basnet from the CPN (Maoist) have registered their nominations.
Arun Karki, Babukaji Khadka and Santosh Ghimire have filed their candidacies as independent candidates.
Chief Election Officer and District Judge Rajendra Nepal informed that all political parties and independent candidates have filed their candidacies peacefully in Ramechhap. As the election date approaches, the election atmosphere in the district has become more heated.
