The CPN-UML has nominated central member Parbat Gurung as its candidate from Dolakha.

Gurung has become a candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives election for the third time from UML.

Gurung had won the 2070 Constituent Assembly election and the 2074 House of Representatives. The center has given him a ticket to contest in Dolakha, which is a constituency. There was also a controversy over his candidacy after he was recommended as a single candidate from the district.

The Bagmati Province Committee had recommended the names of Gurung and other aspirants Balkrishna Shiwakoti, Rachana Khadka, Shyam Basnet and Double Pandey after a controversy in the district.

Earlier, Gurung had also served as the government spokesperson after becoming the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens and Minister for Communications and Information Technology.
