Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dhakal informed that due to the rain since Saturday, the highway was completely blocked when Roshi Khola washed away the road diversion at various places on the BP highway.

According to Prazia Dhakal, the flood that occurred in the second week of October last year completely damaged about 8 kilometers of the highway. It was temporarily repaired and put into operation. But this year, the rain on October 17 and 18 destroyed the temporary structure and completely damaged the highway, he said.

The temporary diversions at Boksekuna, Ghuwane, Chowkidanda, Dalabensi, Piple, Mamti, Charangefedi on the highway have been washed away again by the incessant rain on Saturday. 

The highway, which was completely damaged last year, was put into operation after temporary repairs at a cost of around 100 million. But Dinesh Lama, chairman of Roshi rural municipality, informed that there has been damage again. According to him, diversions at various places on the highway have been washed away by the Roshi river. He said that it will take about 10 days to repair and bring the highway into operation.

According to him, about 9 kilometers of BP highway has been completely damaged. As an alternative route, one can enter Kathmandu via the Temal-Bhakunde road section through Sitkha in Sindhuli. But at present the road section is also blocked and it will be repaired and put into operation within two to four days, he informed.
