Speaker of Bagmati State Assembly Bhuvan Kumar Pathak has resigned. Speaker Pathak submitted his resignation to Deputy Speaker Apsara Chapagai.

He has resigned saying that it would be unfair to hold a position against the wishes of the Nepali people and the sentiments of the young generation when the nation is crying.

 In his letter to Deputy Speaker Chapagai, it is written, 'I announced my resignation from social media on 24th of Bhadra . But due to technical reasons it was not suitable to complete the legal process . Today, according to the Constitution of Nepal and the Provincial Assembly Rules 2074, I have resigned from the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly.' Pathak was elected to the Bagmati Provincial Assembly from RPP.
