14 people have registered their nominations for the local level by-election for the post of Ward President of Ward No. 12 of Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City of Makwanpur.
Chief Electoral Officer Avani Mainali Bhattarai informed that 14 people from various political parties and independents have registered their nomination papers for the election of Ward President in Hetounda-12 on 16th November under the by-election. According to him, Arjun Prasad Tiwari from Congress, Rajesh Nagarkoti from UML, Ravin Pradhan from Maoist Center, Prem Bahadur Vlon Lama from RPPA, Balram Bal from United Socialist Party have registered their nominations for the post of Ward President.
Ashabir Bal from Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA), Phulmaya Titung from Nemkipa and Chabilal Waiba from Jaspa, Deepa Lama have also registered their nomination papers . On the independent side, Yunesh Lama Syangtan, Arjun Ghalan, Kumar Pokharel, Geeta Kumari Newar and Chhatraprakash Adhikari have filed nomination papers for the post of ward president.
Hariprasad Dhakal, Chief Officer of Bagmati Province, Election Office, said that the list of candidates for the post of Ward President will be published on the afternoon of November 5th after investigating the details. He said that those who have registered nominations will be given time to withdraw their names from 3 to 5 o'clock on the same day.
Lalit Bahadur Ghalan, who was elected as the ward president in the local elections held in Baisakh last 2079, has become the head of Makwanpur district coordination committee, and by-elections are about to be held in this ward.
