Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Iran will "pay a heavy price" for the killing of Israeli citizens.
"Iran will pay a heavy price for the systematic killing of civilians, women and children," Netanyahu said during a visit to the site where a missile struck a residential building in Bat Yam, a coastal town near Tel Aviv.
Iran's missile attacks on Israel on Saturday night and Sunday morning killed 10 people and injured more than 200, according to Israeli media.
Missiles that penetrated Israel's air defense system caused damage and destruction in Bat Yam, Tel Aviv and the northern region of the country.
Israel's military censorship prohibits journalists from publishing footage of missile strikes inside the country.
Netanyahu, referring to the wave of attacks on military and nuclear sites in Iran since Friday morning, said, 'It was absolutely necessary for Israel to conduct this operation.'
The official aim of this campaign, named 'Rising Lion', is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, and it has struck more than 250 targets, according to the Israeli military.
Netanyahu pointed to Iran's nuclear program and ballistic missile capabilities, saying, 'We will achieve all our objectives and we will end the threat of dual existence .'
