The results of the election held on Tuesday to elect the 47th President of the United States are continuing. According to the results of the polls so far, the candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, has appeared in front. According to CNN, he is ahead with 246 electoral votes so far.

Similarly, Democratic Party candidate Vice President Kamala Harris is leading by 182 electoral votes. At least 270 of the total 538 electoral votes must be obtained to be elected as President.

Among the 7 swing states considered decisive for victory, Trump has won in North Carolina and Georgia. This victory has made it easy for Trump to win the majority. But Kamala Harris' grip on other swing states  Can also be installed. But winning 16/16 electoral seats in North Carolina and Georgia  Trump's supporters are happy after that. 

535 electoral votes have been determined for the 50 US states based on population and 3 for the federal capital 'District of Columbia'.    It is difficult to predict who will win without the results. Even in 2020, Trump was leading in the initial results . But in the end, the Democratic candidate Joe Biden overtook him . It may take up to 2/3 days to get the final result .  

Most of the 50 states have traditionally had one party win presidential elections. Such states are known as 'Blue' and 'Red' states. States favored by the Democratic party candidate are known as 'blue' states and states held by the Republican candidate are known as 'red' states.
