After the government decided to disable unregistered social media platforms in Nepal, internet service providers have implemented it. After the instructions of the government on Thursday, big platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Messenger have been deactivated till Saturday.

Sudhir Parajuli, president of ISPAN and Subisu Cablenet, an umbrella organization of Internet service providers, said that the platforms have been shut down as per the government's decision. "New IP addresses are coming, we are finding them and shutting them down," he said. According to

Parajuli, it is difficult to completely shut down all platforms at once. Due to this, it works in some places and not in others. He said, 'We have almost deactivated the web versions and the mobile apps are also gradually being closed.' After the government's move, users are looking for alternative ways .
