In sports, the Copa America and the UEFA European Champions League became the most searched topics worldwide. The ICC T-20 World Cup and the England cricket series against India were also the most searched topics. In the list of 10 most searched topics, 6 are related to sports. 

In 2024, food related topics were also found to be highly searched by users. Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen's famous chocolate muffins seem to have captivated people around the world. Many try to make this dessert at home. Traditional Indian dishes such as biryani and samosas were more searched than ever, while topics related to keto diet, vegetarian food, pasta, smoothies and various breads were found to be more popular. Many people were also interested in various topics related to exercises and yoga that can be done at home. Globally, games like Connections, Pal World, Infinite Craft, Counter Strike, Minecraft were searched on Google, while games like PUBG, Freefire, Call of Duty, Lundo also became the subject of Google searches in India and nearby regions.

The death of singer Liam Penn of the musical group "One Direction", newly elected US President Donald Trump, along with British princess Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, iPhone 16 also became the most searched topics on Google. Fans also looked forward to the cricket series between India and Bangladesh and the Olympic Games. South Asia with a large population and Google users, and especially India, has a high interest in cricket-related topics.

In the field of entertainment, Google search data shows that people around the world are interested in Disney and Pixar's 'Inside Out 2' movie. After the success of the first part, the fans were very excited about the second part of this film. Along with wrestler Vinesh Phogat, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP leader Chirag Paswan, cricketers Hardik Pandya, Shashank Singh and Ravindra Jadeja, badminton player Lakshya Sen, businessman Mukesh Ambani's newly married daughter-in-law Radhika Merchant and model Poonam Pandey also appear to be on the most wanted list. Similarly, in India, the meanings of words like 'Cervical Cancer', 'Ake', 'All Eyes on Rafah', 'Tawaif' were searched the most. 

Globally, along with politics, AI, space, climate change, Covid-19, Nobel laureates, conflict in Ukraine and the Middle East, and job cuts in the tech sector, and the economy's problems seem to be the subject of a lot of Google searches. The US election was found to be the most searched for user interest. Under the news category, more searches were done on overheating, Hurricane Milton, Typhoon in Japan, Iran Rafah, Crowdstrike, Attack on Trump, Movie 'The Menendez Brothers' and Monkeypox.  In the field of

technology, users are attracted to new technologies and features such as iPhone 16, Google Lens and Circle to Search. AI-based chatbots were also significantly explored throughout the year 2024. 5G technology, electric vehicles, virtual reality, blockchain, quantum computing along with household convenience technologies were explored. Pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the U.S. and around the world have gone viral, with events like Taylor Swift's Erasure Tour. Olympics, AI-generated content, various Hollywood and Bollywood movies and topics influenced by them were also searched as viral content. A Google search seems to turn up a significant search for viral topics and people associated with them.

Although Google has kept separate details about the Google search trends of India, Hong Kong, Australia, Pakistan and other countries, it has not included Nepal. According to various media, sportsperson Sandeep Lamichhane from Nepal in 2024, Mount Everest, tourism, festivals and Kathmandu were the most searched topics on Google.
