The Nepali Army has started security patrols using horses in Upper Dolpa, located in the northern part of the Himalayan district of Dolpa.

After the snow that has fallen since December has made it difficult to walk from one place to another, the army has started patrolling the remote villages using horses with the help of locals.

The army is currently conducting election-oriented security patrols by setting up its base in Dho, Kagkot and Sumduwa in Upper Dolpa.

The army has started patrolling using horses in Dolpo Budva, Charkatangsong and She-Phoksundo rural municipalities in Upper Dolpa to conduct the House of Representatives elections scheduled for 21 Falgun in a peaceful, fearless and fair manner, informed Harish Shahi, the commander (soldier) of Sangram Shardul Gulma Suliguard.

The army is also patrolling by setting up military bases in all eight municipalities of the district.

Army election-oriented security base camps have been set up in eight places in the district.

68 permanent polling stations and 2 temporary polling stations have been designated in Dolpa.

Dolpa, which has only one House of Representatives constituency, has a total of 24,115 voters. Of these, 12,187 are female and 11,928 are male voters.
