The Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah, has removed the minister of the United Socialist Party, Naresh Kumar Shahi, who was in the government. Shahi was the Minister of Economic Affairs in the Congress-led government.

The former power partner Civil Liberties Party has not left the government, but the Congress and Civil Liberties Party alone do not have a majority for the government. There are 18 MPs from Congress and seven from Civil Immunity.
