Pokhara Avengers have given a target of 139 runs to Kathmandu Gurkhaz in Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket on Saturday. Kathmandu's captain Karan KC won the toss and elected to bat first at the Trivi Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

Namibian captain Jehrard Ersmus got Gurkhaz's first success by dismissing Andries Gauss for zero in the second over. Another opener Dinesh Kharel scored 38 runs from Pokhara. He played 25 balls and hit 6 fours and 1 six.

Rashid Khana dominated Gurkhaz in the game by taking the wickets of captain Kushal Bhurtel and Dilip Nath along with Dinesh. Bhurtel, who once again disappointed with the batting, scored 7 runs and was bowled. Dilip, who came back to the team, also hit 2 sixes in 24 balls before being bowled. Michael Levitt got out LBW for 8 runs to Drew Gomel who was playing the first game in the

tournament. After that, Karan dismissed Michael Lisk for 1, Narayan Joshi for 0 and Vipin Khatri for 4 runs and destroyed Pokhara's lower order. Rayman Reefer scored 41 runs and remained unbeaten. He played 30 balls and hit 1 four and 3 sixes. Sagar Dhakal remained unbeaten by 1 run.

Karan and Rashid took 3 wickets each from Kathmandu. Karan spent 24 runs in 4 overs and Rashid 43 runs in 4 overs. Erasmus took 14 wickets in 4 overs and Levitt took 1-1 wickets after spending only 13 runs in 3 overs.

After changing three players from the team that played the previous match in Pokhara, they played Akash Chand, Dilip and Gomil instead of Tritraj Das, Kiran Thagunna, and Zain Malik. An opening batsman who played first-class cricket from Mumbai, Indian player Gomil is the first player in the NPL.

Kathmandu Gurkhaz have replaced Sumit Maharjan with Raju Rizal and Dan Dawthwaite with Nathan Souter. Both Pokhara and Kathmandu are likely to reach the playoffs. With two games left to play, Pokhara and Kathmandu have 4-4 points.
