Lumbini Lions have finally achieved their first victory in Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket. Lumbini Lions defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 33 runs on Tuesday after captain Rohit Paudel played another brilliant innings and performed all round.

Lumbini, under the leadership of Nepali national team captain Rohit, was defeated in the first four games. After Rohit, the highest run scorer of the tournament, scored 80 runs off 57 balls, Lumbini lost the toss and went into bat.

Chitwan, who came in response, lost 8 wickets and scored only 134 runs. This is Chitwan's second defeat in the fifth match. 3rd place after winning 3 matches. Janakpur Bolts are at the top position after winning all four matches while Sudoorpaschim has won 3 out of 4 matches and is ahead of Chitwan in run rate .

Rohit played a major role in reducing Chitwan to a small score . He spent 17 runs in 4 overs and took 4 wickets. Player of the match Rohit took the wickets of Vipin Rawal (5), Sohail Tanveer (1), Ravi Bopara (12) and Yan Nicholas Lofty Eaton (6). Ramon Simmonds spent 22 runs in 4 overs and Saad Bin Zafar and Abhishesh Gautam took 1 wicket each.

Luke Benkenstein scored the highest 31 runs from Chitwan. He played 29 balls and hit 3 fours and 1 six. Captain Kushal Malla played 17 balls with 1 four and 20 and Santosh Karki hit 2 fours in 8 balls and got out for 10 runs. Rijan Dhakal scored 15 with 1 four off 14 balls and Nar Bahadur Sarki scored 22 unbeaten runs with 1 four and 1 six off 12 balls.

Earlier, Rohit, the highest run-scorer of the tournament, hit 6 fours and 5 sixes and shared 114 runs in 70 balls with Canada's ex-captain Zafar for the fifth wicket. Rohit was dismissed in the third ball of the 20th over. Sandeep Zora, who came next, hit the first ball for a boundary but was beaten in the next two balls. Jafar, who was run out on the last ball of the innings, scored 52 runs with 4 fours and 1 six in 35 balls.
