Kathmandu Gurkhaz has appointed Nepali women's national team captain Indu Burma as its cricket ambassador. Upendra Mahato, president of Kathmandu Sports Development Venture, welcomed Indu to his team by wearing a scarf.
Indu said that the NPL project has brought a great atmosphere to Nepali cricket. She said, "Kathmandu Gurkhaj has given me a great opportunity, I will start playing my role well". All the players are very happy when the NPL is about to be held. I hope that women will have NPL by next year, we are getting positive signals from CAN on this matter.'
In 2010, Indu played ACC U-19 Cup in Singapore for the first time in international cricket. Indu made her 'debut' in the Nepali national team from the ACC Twenty-20 in Kuwait in 2013. She scored 659 runs with a half century in 56 Twenty20 internationals and took 29 wickets.
Since November 9, 2023, Indu is the captain of the Nepali women's team. Under the captaincy of Indu, Nepal won the ACC Women's Asia Cup by defeating the UAE in July.
