UML leader Pradeep Gyawali has urged the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) to maintain geopolitical balance and move forward in the direction of protecting national interests.
‘RSWP President Ravi Lamichhane and Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal have returned from their visits to India and China. A country like Nepal, which has geopolitics and complexities, has certainly experienced the complexity of protecting national interests within geopolitics, just as it is said to save seeds during famine and save lives during chaos,’ he said. ‘It will be difficult for a small country like Nepal to bear the mistakes made by our small mistakes, expressions and gestures.’
He said that some of the government’s activities did not match its own pledge. ‘The government’s initial activities have raised questions. The Nepali people should be given answers to their questions through the general convention. Democracy and checks and balances are the system. If the judiciary becomes weak, the office of the President becomes weak, then the parliament becomes weak. If the voice of criticism becomes weak, it is not transparency, if there is opacity, it is natural that public opinion cannot last forever,' he said .
Similarly, he further said, 'There have been incidents that do not match some promises . I wish you the feeling that Nepal's democracy is safe . There are brakes and accelerators in cars . We will move forward keeping in mind that pressing the accelerator alone can also cause an accident .'
