Congress President Gagan Thapa is set to participate in the inaugural session of the ruling party Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)'s first general convention. Personal Secretary Shankar Kuinkel has informed that President Thapa will go to Chitwan to deliver a congratulatory speech at the inaugural session. Kuinkel informed Ikantipur that President Thapa will go to Chitwan shortly.
Earlier on Sunday morning, President Thapa had expressed his best wishes on the occasion of the first national convention of the RSS and said that the convention was a 'historic opportunity' in terms of ideology, organization and policy.
Earlier, there was news that Vice President Pushpa Bhusal would be attending the convention from the Congress. The RSS had invited party chiefs for the convention. Central member Gyawali from UML is participating in the convention as the party representative.
According to RSVP General Secretary Kavindra Burlakoti, Barshaman Pun from the NCP, Rajendra Lingden from the RPP, CK Raut from Janmat, and Upendra Yadav from the JSP are also scheduled to participate.
Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai will also participate in the RSVP general convention. The inaugural program of the RSVP general convention is being held at the Guest House Chaur in Bharatpur. The closed session will be held at the Industrial Exhibition Center of the Chitwan Industry Association.
