Three people from the family of NCP coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal were in the fray in the recently concluded House of Representatives elections. Dahal from Rukum East, his daughter Renu from Chitwan-3, and his daughter-in-law Bina Magar from Kanchanpur-1 were candidates. Of the three, only Dahal won from Rukum East. The other two could not preserve their political legacy.

Daughter Renu resigned from the post of mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City and became a candidate from Chitwan-3. She was defeated by Sobita Gautam of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). During the election campaign, she sought votes by highlighting her work in the armed war, the Constituent Assembly, and as the mayor of Bharatpur. ‘I am Prachanda’s daughter. However, I became a candidate based on my long political journey and contributions,’ she said after becoming a candidate.

Dahal wants to take his legacy forward in politics by becoming a candidate for the House of Representatives by becoming a member of the Constituent Assembly and mayor of Bharatpur. In 2074, her father Pushpa Kamal Dahal won from this constituency.

Dahal's daughter-in-law was defeated in this election even without Kanchanpur-1. In 2074, she won the election from the same constituency. After that, she also became the Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation. This time, she was defeated by Janak Dhami of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Suhang, son of the late Speaker of the Constituent Assembly, Subash Nembang, won from Ilam-1. He defeated Bheshraj Acharya of the Nepali Congress. Suhang also won in the by-election held after Subash's death (26 Asar 2080).

Continuing the 2079 election, Dhan Bahadur won the election this time too. The runner-up was Lanka Bahadur Rokaya of the UML, while Karna Bahadur Budha came in third. The Budha family has been decisive in Dolpa politics.

Mohammad Firdosh Alam, son of Congress leader Mohammad Aftab Alam, won from Rautahat-3. Firdosh from the Alam family, which came into politics through the political legacy of Congress leader Sheikh Idris, won the election.

Congress leader Romi Gauchan Thakali's son Yogesh won the election from Mustang. He had also won the election in 2079.

Nawalparasi West-2 was a new constituency for Maoist leader Devendra Poudel. He had won the election from Baglung-2 in 2079 and this time he filed his candidacy from Nawalparasi West-2. The election results have pushed him to seventh place. His wife Balawati Sharma is on the list of proportional candidates of the NCP. She is at number 1 from the Khas Arya cluster. Even if her husband Devendra is defeated, it is almost certain that she will become a proportional MP.

UML leader Sher Bahadur Tamang was defeated as a candidate from Sindhupalchowk-2. NCP's Yubaraj Dulal emerged as the winner while Congress's Vansh Lal Tamang was the closest competitor. Tamang's wife Ushakala Rai is on the proportional list of the UML proportional indigenous women's cluster. Since she is at number four, she is likely to be elected.

Gurung, who is currently the leader of the NCP, has been a minister and Subedi has been an MP several times. This time, Yashoda was nominated by the NCP from Manang. She was defeated by the Congress candidate Tek Bahadur Gurung.
