The Nepali Congress has demanded that the government ensure an environment where the upcoming elections will be held fairly. Speaking at a regular press conference organized at the party headquarters in Sanepa on Sunday, party spokesperson Devraj Chalise made the demand.

He also urged the government to be aware of its duty to ensure such an environment, stating that it is the natural right of the people to vote in a fair and fearless environment in the elections. He also said that the government does not have the right to manipulate the people's right to vote.

'It is the natural right of the people to vote in a fair and fearless, peaceful and free manner in the elections. We have repeatedly said that the source of legitimacy of governance is the people's right to vote. The government does not have the right to manipulate this,' said Spokesperson Chalise, 'We want to ensure that the government, which has taken the responsibility of making the elections fair, ensures a fair environment. The Nepali Congress has not doubted it yet. But it needs to be aware that it is the government's duty to create an environment of fairness.'
