Former mayor of Kirtipur Municipality Ramesh Maharjan and former ward chairman of Ward No. 6 Nuchhe Maharjan have joined the Nepali Communist Party (NCP).
In a program organized at the party central office today, leaders including NCP coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal inducted them into the party. Both of them left the UML party and joined the NCP.
In the program, coordinator Dahal expressed his belief that communist unity will lead to a broader unity including the UML. He also expressed the view that cooperation between nationalist forces will send a positive message in the country's politics.
