Congress President Gagan Thapa has said that the Congress has promised that youth will not be killed in the country like on Bhadra 23 and Singha Durbar will not be burnt like on Bhadra 24. He said that the Congress has prepared a blueprint for a bright Nepal of tomorrow by finding solutions to the problems seen in the country.

‘The rebellion of Bhadau 23 and 24 did not reject us. It said, “Come changed. The Congress has come changed,” said Congress President Thapa while addressing a pledge meeting organized in Tirhutiya Gachi, Janakpur on Wednesday. ‘Now the chapter of peace for the big ones and the law for the small ones is over. Farmers will no longer have to stand in line to get fertilizer. They will not have to pay bribes to get licenses, that is our promise.’

At the pledge meeting, which was attended by candidates from 32 constituencies in all 8 districts of Madhesh Province, Thapa said that the Congress is ready to correct the mistakes made in the past despite the work done. ‘Now, when asking questions, no youth should be killed by the state bullets like on Bhadau 23,’ Thapa said, ‘No one will be allowed to burn Singha Durbar wearing a mask, this is the promise of the Congress.’ He said that the Congress would address the feelings of the young generation who took to the streets on Bhadau 23 and 24. ‘Gen-G did not come from somewhere. "They are our brothers and nephews," said Congress President Thapa, "We are not being denied. We are changing our style."

Congress President Thapa also said that the next five years will not be wasted. He said that the Congress will take the lead in development and change for the next five years by taking care of all political parties and factions. "Congress will not waste five years now. Congress takes pride in yesterday. But, it does not get stuck in yesterday. It solves today's problems and leads tomorrow's bright days," he said, "Congress's power is not hatred. It is love. Congress's power is not prohibition, it is the power to make everyone participate."

Congress President Thapa had spoken in Maithili at the beginning of his speech. "Ai hum Maithili me bajaj. We promise that in a few days we will talk to you in your own language and rhythm’ (Today I will speak in Maithili. And I promise, in a few days I will talk to you in your own language and rhythm.), Thapa said, ‘Whatever the Congress promises, it will fulfill every letter of it in 5 years. Whether the Congress is in the government or in the opposition, it will fulfill its promise.’ 

Congress President Thapa made the party’s pledge public in the pledge meeting. A brief excerpt of the pledge, which is the party’s manifesto, was made public in the pledge meeting. The detailed excerpt of the pledge will be made public at a program organized at the National Assembly on Thursday. President Thapa is also scheduled to answer questions raised on the manifesto at the program.

Congress Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma said that the Congress is ready to collaborate with parties to form a common position after the elections on the issue of a stable government and good governance in the country. ‘The Gen-G rebellion has occurred because the country was not properly governed,’ Sharma said at the pledge meeting. ‘The Congress has changed from the special general convention after conducting an MRI of all the problems. The Congress appeals to all parties and forces to establish good governance in the country with a common vision.’ He said that the Congress is ready to get to the root of the issue on which the rebellion took place and resolve it. 

Another Vice President of the Congress, Pushpa Bhusal, has said that the Congress is taking the initiative to change the country by changing the party. Addressing the pledge meeting, Vice President Bhusal said that the current election is between those who are against federalism and those who are biased.

‘Our competition is with a new party that does not accept federalism. It is with a new party that hides its crimes,’ she said, ‘We are in favor of federalism. We are in favor of development. We are in favor of good governance, change, and development.’ She said that Gagan Thapa has come to the leadership of the Congress with new thinking, approach, and behavior. ‘Gagan Kumar Thapa has come to the leadership of the Congress with new thinking, approach and behavior,’ she said, ‘We have put him forward as the Prime Minister. We are waiting for Falgun 21 to approve it.’
