Researcher Sneha Kumcha has said that India expects political stability and institutional continuity no matter which party comes to power in Nepal.
Kumcha, a researcher at India's MP-IDSA, said in the session 'Nepal in the Struggle for Power' on Tuesday, the second day of the Kantipur Conclave, that the political changes in Nepal will affect the long-term policy between the two countries. 'India expects political stability and institutional continuity in Nepal.' Frequent political changes in Kathmandu have a serious impact on long-term policy commitments,' she said.
Kumcha also said that India is ready to work no matter which party comes to power in Nepal. 'India is ready to cooperate no matter which party is in power. If Nepal can respect past agreements and commitments and maintain their continuity, India is ready to work with any party,' she said.
Similarly, Kumcha also said that the issue of allowing Nepal to use additional air routes is sensitive for India. She said that open dialogue is necessary when Nepal talks with India about taking the country to economic progress through economy, trade or connectivity. She also said that transparency is necessary to expand relations between the two countries. She also said that Nepal should clarify how it will deal with other world powers.
