Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradeep Poudel has said that despite many changes in the country, those changes have been overlooked due to insufficient attention to good governance.

‘A lot has changed since 2048, but good governance has not been achieved. That is why all the achievements have been lost,’ General Secretary Poudel said while speaking at the ‘Policy, Leaders and Leadership’ session under the Kantipur Conclave-2026, ‘That is why it is necessary to have a debate within us as well.’

General Secretary Poudel believed that it is necessary today to not limit ourselves to the path of finding political questions but also to find ways to lead society in a positive direction.

Stating that the Genji Rebellion occurred due to the lack of good governance, he said that the Congress viewed it politically. ‘The Genji movement was born out of the lack of good governance and we have understood it politically,’ he said.

He emphasized that public trust can be restored only through good governance, accountability and policy clarity.
