Leader Ghanashyam Bhusal has said that society is changing with the times. In the session 'The End of Ideology?: Retrofitting Nepali Politics' of the fifth edition of Kantipur Conclave, Bhusal said that society is changing and evolving with the times.
Bhusal says that the present is changing more than the past and the future more than the present. 'As time passes, society is becoming more dynamic. We cannot talk about the situation when my father and I were young. What could have been done in 4-5 years when my father was young could have been done in a year when I was young. Now it can be done in 6 hours,' Bhusal said.
Bhusal said that the dissatisfaction of the previous generation should not be talked about in the present. He said that the constitution guarantees fundamental rights and employment, but it has not been implemented. He believes that the people are demanding what the constitution has ensured. 'If we could not distinguish between prosperity and equality, this movement came in the name of Gen-G. The next movement will come in another name,' he said.
Similarly, Bhusal says that disputes and debates are happening everywhere. 'Disputes within the party, disputes between the party and society. This is how it was going on. The earthquake, before its aftershocks could be over, came the Corona. Due to all these things, the driving force of society is the middle class, and there was discontent and disappointment in that class. It is not true that all the impulses of society would come out in the movement where they were concentrated,' he said.
Bhusal said that in the name of the Gen-G movement, society found a weak link and expressed its dissatisfaction. Bhusal said that the economic and political impulses in Nepal came in the name of Gen-G.
He said that if the cause of the Gen-G movement is viewed from an economic and political perspective, its situation will be seen more clearly and quickly. 'Our development, the state of development and the aspirations raised by the constitution, it seems that those aspirations are a great power and strength in themselves. Due to the recent political works done after the constitution despite some differences of opinion, that aspiration did not find a way. This has caused great frustration. The hope and enthusiasm that people have is not fulfilled,' Bhusal said.
He also said that society has become more dynamic with the rapid development of technology in recent times. 'Even though technology is lagging behind, society is moving forward. Society has also changed with the change of generation,' he said.
Bhusal says that changes need to be made in the living standards of the country's citizens. 'In a society like ours, no matter how many beautiful principles we talk about, real personal life is living at home, eating, and traveling. The promise of giving a new life to today's Nepalis is old. These are promises made by King Mahendra to Oli and Prachanda. Those promises were not fulfilled,' Bhusal said. 'The right is written in the constitution. If it is not written, it is written in the constitution that you can also organize to shut down, strike, and protest. We need to give a new life to how society is managed. The crisis of the constitution, the contradiction between citizens and the constitution, are undoubtedly the employment and good governance of a society like ours.'
Bhusal says that in the current situation, everything will be managed and we will move forward.
