Purna Bahadur Khadka, a leader of Sher Bahadur Deuba's faction, has said that the Election Commission should not succumb to pressure and conspiracy.

Khadka, who returned to the commission in the morning after reaching the commission, said at the party office, Sanep, "If the commission acts against the party's statute and constitution, it will support the dark cloud of democracy. If it decides otherwise, the Nepali Congress will protest across the country." He said that if the commission decides against the Congress's statute, it will also protest in ward-wise.

Khadka said that the special general convention has no legitimacy when its justification has been exhausted. He said, "Holding a special general convention is a step towards party fragmentation. It is not appropriate to organize such a gathering when the party is in crisis. Many things have been confused. The chairman had said, 'We will address all the issues raised.' But now misleading things are being presented."

Khadka also claimed that the supporters of the special general convention are spreading lies, saying that the center of the statute is the central committee. He said, "The special general convention is focused on the objective of damaging the party and its organization is illegal."
