Senior advocate and former president of the Nepal Bar Association, Gopal Krishna Ghimire, has said that the Election Commission will take a decision on this soon as the special general convention has been legally held as per the statute of the Nepali Congress.

He said that the issue of leadership selection was not a matter of dispute, saying that the special general convention passed the procedure by voice vote and the leadership was selected accordingly.

When asked about the argument that the legitimacy of the special general convention to be called by the central committee would be in jeopardy because it was called by the general secretary, he said that this would not be a matter of dispute. He said, 'Since the central office will be under the general secretary, this issue will not be a matter of much controversy.'

He said that the Election Commission would take a decision soon after considering the sensitive situation.
