There will be no voting tonight to elect a new leadership under the special general convention of the Nepali Congress being held at Bhrikuti Mandap.

Central Election Committee Coordinator Sitaram KC informed that preparations are underway to proceed with the voting process tomorrow, Wednesday only, as it will be difficult to conduct voting at night. 'We are currently completing the nomination papers by 7:30 pm. After that, we will discuss and finalize the remaining process,' said Coordinator KC, 'I am not planning to go for voting at night. It will be difficult to conduct voting all night. It will probably be tomorrow morning.' 

According to the election program made public by the Election Committee earlier, the voting schedule was fixed from 9 pm today. According to Coordinator KC, a new election schedule will now be announced. 

Elections are going to be held for the 134-member Central Working Committee in the Congress. Election Committee Coordinator KC said in a press conference that the election will be held as per the old statute. According to him, there will be elections for 131 central members including 13 office bearers. 

According to KC, 2 vice-presidents, 2 general secretaries and 8 joint general secretaries will also be elected from the election. He informed that 35 people will be elected for the open central member.
