The closed session under the special general convention of the Nepali Congress has passed a proposal to form an election committee.
The procedure for the operation of the general convention passed by the hall of the general convention mentions the provision for the formation of the election committee.
The procedure mentions that such a provision has been made to hold the election of the central committee until the regular general convention is held. The procedure states that 'until the regular general convention is held pursuant to clause (1) of article 17 of the constitution, the general convention representatives shall hold the election of the central working committee pursuant to article 21 of the constitution, within the functions, duties and powers of the central convention pursuant to clause (1) of article 16 of the constitution.'
The election committee will have one coordinator and four members. It has been arranged that the election committee can decide its own procedure/guidelines for the election and conduct the election.
