The Congress special general convention will be inaugurated by General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma.
The supporters of the special general convention had been working since morning to bring party president Sher Bahadur Deuba and acting president Purna Bahadur Khadka for the inauguration. 'We tried until the last minute, but since they did not come, the general secretaries will inaugurate,' a leader said.
The inauguration program is starting in a few minutes. Before the inauguration, cadres had taken out a rally from Kupandol in Lalitpur and Sundhara, Ratnapark, Padmakanya Campus Chowk, Shankardev Campus and Kamalpokhari in Kathmandu towards Bhrikuti Mandap, chanting slogans in favor of the special general convention.
