Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai has said that the final list of proportional representation candidates will be published only on Magh 20. He said that this is the time it will take to complete the procedural steps after submitting the list.

Spokesperson Bhattarai said that doubts about whether the election will be held on the scheduled date are gradually disappearing and that this is no longer a topic of discussion. He said that parties can submit their closed lists of proportional candidates for the House of Representatives elections by tonight as per the program set by the Election Commission. He clarified that all parties that enter the commission premises during office hours will be provided with services throughout the night even after the office hours are over.

According to him, after the lists submitted by the parties are registered, the commission will study the candidate lists in detail from Magh 15 to 20. He said, "The list of candidates submitted by the parties is checked to see whether it is in accordance with Schedule 1 of the House of Representatives Election Act, 2074 BS. It is also checked whether it is in accordance with the provisions of proportional representation."

He said that if the list sent by the parties does not match the cluster, they will be requested to resubmit it after 20. From Magh 21 to 27, parties can amend their names and send them according to the method and procedure.

Spokesperson Bhattarai informed that the steps like candidates can withdraw their names, parties can remove their names, claims can be raised and objections can be made and the final list can be published will be taken forward gradually. He said that the commission is providing services to the parties through two counters and 20 employees, adding that some parties are still taking the oath.
