Political parties have begun submitting their closed lists for the proportional representation system to the Election Commission for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for February 21.

According to the commission, three political parties, including the Nepal Communist Party of Nepal (NCPN), have submitted their closed lists by Sunday afternoon. The three political parties have submitted their closed lists of 134 people to the commission, informed commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai.

The time for submitting the closed lists has been fixed for Sunday and Monday. Spokesperson Bhattarai informed that the commission is submitting the closed lists of proportional representation in two phases.

In the first phase, the names of the candidates recommended by the parties concerned will be verified and provided with certificates. He said that after obtaining the certificates, the closed lists will be registered for submission.

'As of today, a total of 134 closed lists from three political parties have been verified here. They are in the process of submitting the closed lists after obtaining the certificates. Since the time has been fixed for today and tomorrow, we are in a state of readiness for service delivery with the expectation that everyone will arrive by tomorrow,' said spokesperson Bhattarai.
