”The people have said they want a proven leader like Kulman Ghising. If there is only one agenda, how can unity be achieved by giving Prime Minister Balen and Speaker Ravi Lamichhane?”

The Ujjaya Nepal Party has called on all parties to come together to establish coexistence among new political parties.
However, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) have rejected the proposal for unity made to party founder Kulman Ghising.
Ujjaya Nepal's central committee meeting on Saturday rejected the proposal from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Balen, saying that no proposal was received to establish coexistence of all parties. Central member Shankar Dhakal said that while Ujjaya Nepal is flexible to an extent, no honest proposal has been received from other parties.
'We are flexible to an extent for unity. It is said that an agreement has been reached between the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Balen, but we believe that the agreement is not formal. If what has been made public is like that, then it does not seem that the agreement is based on honesty,' Dhakal said after the central committee meeting, 'One person has said that he wanted an executive (Balen as Prime Minister) and the other has said that he wanted party leadership (Ravi Lamichhane as party president). In the current situation, what the country wants is proven leadership, and that is Kulman Ghising. The three forces that the people are currently demanding should come together. The three forces should coexist.'
Central member Dhakal also said that the issue of making Ujjaya Nepal a brand and taking it forward was raised in the central committee. He said that when the three parties come together, the leadership should be selected in a way that everyone is equal and the responsibilities for the positions they will receive in the coming days should be assigned later. 'There are three forces now. We believe that we should make them the presidium and go to the elections with a single election symbol. The people have said that they want a proven leadership like Kulman Ghising, some have asked for a young man like Balen, while some have asked for a leadership like Ravi Lamichhane. Anyone can be the prime ministerial candidate after the elections. If the agenda is the same, how can there be unity by giving them the prime minister and president?' Dhakal said.
Dhakal said that the proposal from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Balen to Ujjaya Nepal is not compatible. However, he said that a solution can be found through dialogue. Dhakal also informed that the party will now prepare a closed list of proportional candidates and continue to move forward with other work.
