Surya Thapa, who was elected as a central member of the UML, has said that no one will be forced to leave the party if they are defeated in the election.

He clarified that the winning candidate does not need to consider his victory a big issue . 'Being defeated in the election does not mean leaving the party, and the winning candidate does not need to consider his victory a big issue,' he said when asked by a journalist about some leaders who competed with Chairman KP Sharma Oli in the past general convention, saying, 'KP Sharma Oli's leadership will hold serious discussions on the management of the defeated leaders and the division of labor of the victorious leaders . The party will be taken forward by including both the defeated and the victorious ones .' According to him, the party will make decisions in a way that everyone is given responsibilities and put to work .

Regarding his role, Thapa expressed his commitment to work according to the responsibilities given by the party . 'I will fulfill the responsibilities according to the role given by the party,' he said.

Explaining the results of the general convention as a natural democratic exercise, Thapa Chhetri said that the cadres have given mixed results . According to him, the results have sent a message to the party to move forward in a balanced manner.
