Prithvi Subba Gurung has been elected as the Vice President of the UML office bearers with popular votes. Out of 19 office bearers in the UML, Gurung won the Vice President post with 1,737 votes.
He, who is also a former deputy general secretary, has secured the highest number of votes among the office bearers. Gurung's votes are more than those of KP Sharma Oli, who won the presidency for the third time.
He has secured 74 more votes than Oli. Oli, who won the presidency, has 1,663 votes. After Gurung, Bishnu Prasad Poudel has 1,675 votes and Ram Bahadur Thapa has 1,516 votes for the vice-president position.
Similarly, Gokarna Bista, who is also a former secretary, has won the vice-president position with 1,368 votes from the Pokharel group. Raghuji Pant, who filed an independent candidacy after not being included in the list of vice-president candidates from the establishment party, has also won with 1,258 votes.
