The UML has stated that leaders of 16 political parties, including former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and former Prime Minister and Nepali Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, have been invited as guests for the inaugural session of the general convention.
Invitations have been sent to Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav, Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party Chairman Mahanta Thakur, and National Independent Party Acting Chairman DP Aryal.
Similarly, UML has also invited members of RPP, Janamat, Janamorcha, Nemkia, Nagarik Unmukti, and NEC Maoists. UML has stated that preparations are final for the inaugural session to be held at Sallaghari in Bhaktapur.
There is talk of a competition between Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Senior Vice President Ishwor Pokharel for leadership selection in this general convention. The election process for the general convention will be held at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu.
