The second legislative convention of CPN-UML is ending today. The legislative convention will pass the political report presented by President KP Oli, the legislative draft presented by Vice President Vishnu Paudel and the organizational resolution presented by General Secretary Shankar Pokharel.

According to UML spokesperson Rajendra Gautam, the convention will pass the report by incorporating the suggestions given by the 10 groups formed to discuss the report.

Although the party's internal unity was to be strengthened in the UML convention this time, it was not without controversy after the membership of former president Bidya Bhandari was kept pending. This constitution of UML is going to be passed by removing the age limit of 70 years and the provision that the same leader cannot hold two executive positions.

In this convention of UML, the strategy to move forward on the Nepali socialist path is going to be decided based on the people's multi-party democracy. According to General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, the main thing is that socialism with Nepalese characteristics means economic growth, people's rights and electing people's representatives to power. Similarly, this convention of UML is going to make a program to make UML the first party in the next general election under Mission 84 and decide to run the campaign accordingly.

This legislative convention of UML will also pass contemporary political resolutions. Spokesman Gautam informed that the current political proposals will raise issues of people's concern to make the government effective and publicize UML's views on the national and international situation.
