Before the 23rd and 24th of August, there was nothing big that Jen-ji was looking for. He was looking for a totally corruption-free, transparent and democratic Nepal. We were fed up with the daily news of corruption. When the people were suffering, the lifestyle of the leader's children seemed very luxurious.

At that time, Nepobabies campaign was running on social media. However, the government restricted our digital civic space to social media. It forced us to take to the streets.

The then government kept trying to ban our voice everywhere. The government continued to operate in a dictatorial style. Even in democracy, the tendency to stifle the voice of the people remained the same. In particular, it was the right of every citizen to ask questions. However, when asked the same question, the government showed a dictatorial style. In this situation, it became necessary to get on the road. On the one hand, the government was trying to silence us, on the other hand, there was a tendency to encroach on the seat of power around the three top leaders. The tendency to fall to any extent to protect their power was seen in those leaders. 

was a tendency to fool the people by throwing out new information every time, to share false dreams. Sometimes I make the country Singapore, sometimes I dream of trains. However, more than ordinary work related to the standard of living of the people was not being done. "Overpromise" and delivery was all under. 

There was also a great difference in the lifestyle of the children of the people and the children of the leaders. The people were always suffering while there was deep inequality in the leaders and their lifestyles. In that case, when the tyranny of those in power exceeded the limit, we knew our question. Jen-ji wondered how our leader's children are living a luxurious lifestyle when 30-40 percent of the country's population is below the poverty line. Whose father's generation, whose grandfather's generation did nothing but politics all their lives, how did they get so much wealth? How did you manage to live such a luxurious life? Then other questions also came to our mind, 'Where is the tax money paid by every Nepali people? Where is it being used?' When every gen-ji was looking for an answer to these questions, it came to the conclusion that it was not found somewhere and we all should raise our voice against it. 

And, the agenda of the movement changed 

It was decided to hit the streets on 23 August only after the government banned social media. Otherwise we were keeping our voices in the digital space. Even when we came to the streets, initially our demand was not that the government should go away. The ban on social media should be lifted and voices should be raised against corruption. As in the country, every sector was politicized, from the constitutional bodies, every body became like a recruitment center for the party, and only the leaders were getting opportunities. It was prepared to warn the people against it.

However, on the first day, the government severely suppressed the peaceful protest. At the beginning of the movement, I presented a list of things that Zen-ji will not do, saying that our movement will be peaceful in Maitighar Mandala. Videos of what I said then that we will not vandalize and set fire to public property, we will raise our voices peacefully, are now viral on social media as well. However, the police suppressed the Gen-G movement so much that 21 comrades died in one day. 

Many friends fell before my eyes. After seeing the shot directly in the head, I once thought that the bullet could have been aimed at me. I freaked out when a friend next to me fell down after being shot. How can the mind not be disturbed by seeing the murders committed by the government in front of the eyes. Mentally I was almost in a state of zero. People are collapsing, shooting has not stopped, tear gas is being fired even in the streets. Due to the suppression of the government, more anger spread among the common people. Even when the videos of police repression were circulating, those in power did not feel like there was any realisation. Then came the change of power. From the evening of the same day, we started demanding the resignation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. On the first day, the then Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar resigned, but his resignation alone was not enough. 

Due to the suppression by the state itself, things that were not in our minds started to become agenda. However, we already disliked the dictatorial tendencies, arrogance and arrogance of the government. But first, we were in favor of correcting and reforming the old leadership. We never thought of an alternative to democracy, we never thought of an alternative to this constitution. However, the situation became such that the Prime Minister elected by the people and sent to the House and elected by them could not be the people's Prime Minister. Then we came to the conclusion that this government cannot last. How could the government that caused genocide continue to sit in the chair when the recent Kalila people came out with slogans against corruption? How could the government that shot Takita remain the government? 

The way forward

The government did not stop even after the massacre on the first day. On the second day too, there was firing. Suppressed. Unarmed protesters were fired upon, hundreds were targeted and shot in the head. Some were even shot from behind. Later, they tried to burn the evidence of corruption and irregularities in Adda, including the court, government lawyers. The police who were inside the parliament building kept firing on the people.

In a democracy, power belongs to the people. People have duties along with officials. However, it seemed to us that the state had forgotten the power of the people. After that we continued to be on the road. Jen-ji expressed his anger against the parliament saying that he does not need a parliament that does not listen to his voice. They tried to show symbolic protest by being surrounded. But later there was arson and vandalism. Gradually, Singha Durbar, Supreme Court, Attorney General's Office etc. were set on fire. That was not Jen-G's spirit. 

We never intended to cause such havoc. In the evening, the army took control of the situation. At 11 o'clock at night, my friends and I reached the base of the Nepalese army. Even then, I said that we did not look for an alternative to democracy and the constitution. Later, after the discussion of Gen-G, an interim government was formed under the leadership of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki on our proposal. His spirit was aligned with the Gen-G movement because he created an image of standing up against corruption while in the judiciary. That is why we proposed him for the Interim Election Government. This government will hold elections in 6 months. However, during this period, the government of the former Chief Justice will also give a message on accountability, transparency and good governance. The same is expected of Gen-G and the new generation of governments. I am very confident that the present government can deliver on these issues. Some other positive messages are also thought to be used. 

It has been 13-14 days since the formation of the new government. What I can say during this period is that this government has not failed in transparency, good governance and accountability so far. Earlier there was a trend of 'under the table' transactions from the Minister to the Prime Minister, now it is a situation that no one can even imagine. This government is the government that the people want, it is a government that is transparent, accountable and runs according to the constitution.

We want a government that implements what is written in the constitution. We want a government that will not make the natural political changes that will happen in five years empty, but will develop institutions. This is the time to be responsible towards the people. Now we will not be silent. There is no need to be patient or remain silent. The Gen-G generation will stop asking questions, but move forward in search of solutions. Now the elections are approaching. Therefore, the question arises as to what kind of parliament and government the Gen-G generation wants. Our answer is, there should be honest and respectable representatives in the parliament. Parliament should be inclusive, a new face should be seen. Expert people should be in place to make laws. And the government should be a 'servant government', towards the people
