In the history of America, in 1872, Victoria Udhull became a presidential candidate for the first time . Despite becoming a sporadic candidate from small parties, after a long gap, Hillary Clinton contested the election from the Democratic Party in the 2016 election. Despite being ahead in the popular vote, she lost the presidential election. Once again, a woman has come forward in the presidential race. This is a positive step . 

America, which is considered to be practicing a developed democracy, is globally dominant in politics, diplomacy, human rights, democracy, economy, business, development and technology. The fact that women could not compete in the presidential elections of America, a world power that has established such a dominance, and even if they came and were defeated, is a searchable scandal.

In such a long period of time, women did not advance to become presidential candidates or were not allowed to be? Why were the candidates also defeated? What was the role of American citizens, society and political parties? This is indeed a matter of serious research. 

There is a global flaw in the view of women . Men's view of women is always prejudiced by patriarchy. Men who walk with patriarchy in their mind, brain and drunkenness consider themselves as the highest, powerful, first-class citizens and ruling class, while women are regarded as weak, powerless and innocent, second-class citizens and ruled class .

Most men believe that the main areas of real power, such as knowledge, politics, economy, religion and social structure, are reserved for men and have the sole birthright of men. This is the main link that deprives women and increases gender inequality.

In such a long American history, the fact that female presidential candidates have become insignificant and could not even be elected, indicates that the American society is not isolated from this .

Despite being ahead in the popular vote in the 2016 election, Clinton was defeated by Trump. By defeating the experienced, capable and influential "woman" Hillary in politics and diplomacy, the American citizens won the victory of the "man" Trump, who influenced white Americans with the populist slogan of extreme right-wing, casteist and racist, America first. They lost the opportunity to have a woman president for the first time in history. There are many reasons for Hillary's defeat, but one of the main ones was her being a woman . Perhaps the Americans defeated him based on the narrow conclusion that a woman cannot lead America, which leads the world.

It also showed that it is a common practice in America for men to reject women's leadership and abilities because they fear losing their traditional dominance. It also exposed the backward and hypocritical thinking of American citizens, the society there, and the political parties. In a society where it is difficult even for a capable, experienced and ruling class woman like Hillary to become president, one can easily imagine how difficult it will be for poor, black and marginalized women.

When talking about women's rights, questions arise, is gender equality only in speech or is it also shown in behavior ? If so, when will it be shown in practice ? Is development just eating, drinking and freedom of expression, or is it equal share of women and men or all communities in all parts of the state or equal role in decision-making? It should be clear . Does putting women in a golden cage and giving them eighty-four dishes leads to gender equality and development? Clarity on such matters is necessary.

in such an environment  American citizens should now be able to say whether a woman should be elected as the president or if 'democracy' is a 'masculinity' ruled only by men. The comment that women are weaker than men and cannot rule must be affirmed . And we should stop teaching the lessons of democracy, gender equality, and human rights globally.

Third world countries India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and first world countries Finland, New Zealand, Great Britain, France etc. have elected women to the head and executive positions of the country. In such an environment, America, the advocate of human rights, democracy and women's rights and gender equality, needs to think seriously. 

A positive message of hope and faith is conveyed to common women when women lead the way . It is established that women can also reach the highest positions and work. However, in order to bring about a change in the standard of living of women in general, it is necessary to bring about a radical change in people's thinking, views, attitudes and behavior along with policy, law and budget. It is not easy to change the discriminatory patriarchal thinking that started religiously and developed as social values, customs, culture and established as the main subject of socialization. Since the process of socialization is discriminatory, wrong and negative, there is even more discrimination and deprivation of women, especially poor, single, and marginalized women.

Therefore, it is necessary to make the process of socialization that starts from the family itself timely from the point of view of justice, equality and respect and move forward in the direction of change . For gender equality and women's rights, by making women participate in the leadership level and the basic decision-making process, an environment should be created where women and men walk together. 

Women's rights activists said after Hillary's defeat, the opportunity given by history was wasted. However, in a short period of 8 years, another opportunity has come again among the American people, to elect a woman as president. Electing Kamala Harris will not only make history for a female president, but a proven person, a racist, racist, right-wing populist, a controversial figure who has attacked the Houses of Parliament and is facing various lawsuits, to save American society from further division, chaos and conflict and move towards real democracy, justice and equality. Can also contribute.

The American society, which has been playing a leading role in various movements and campaigns for women's rights, should abandon the conservative, backward and patriarchal thinking and correct the mistakes of history with progressive and egalitarian thinking. 

The TV debate also made it clear that Harris was able to become the first female vice president in American history compared to Trump who has been tested once. For America, Trump has given what he can give, and there is nothing more to give. Rather, there are grounds for Harris to do more for the U.S., yet to be tested. Harris's presentation in the presidential election debate, his long experience and the agenda of the development and prosperity of the United States that he has put forward seem to be effective for the majority of Americans. His victory seems necessary not only for the further development of American democracy, but also for the reproductive rights of the majority of the middle and lower classes, immigrants and women.
