The government has stated that it will make necessary arrangements to operate a modern blue bus service with CCTV cameras to ensure the safe movement of women. Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle announced this in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
Earlier, the government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah made public on 13 Chaitra 2082, and the blue bus service was also mentioned in the 100 agendas related to governance reforms. Earlier, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Party President Ravi Lamichhane had launched a free bus service for women in his constituency of Chitwan-2 in 2080 Baisakh.
A 32-seat bus has been operated for women in Chitwan-2. The blue bus has been named 'Blue Bus'. But now the bus is not in operation.
