Former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the video of the money allegedly found at his residence in Budhanilkantha may have been made by AI.

In his statement to the inquiry commission on the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24, Deuba, who was also the then president of the Nepali Congress, said, 'The affidavit filed by the Nepal Police in the presence of the ward chairman mentions the amount found at my residence, it was not a large amount. The details of the social media should be AI-generated. No report was made to any police office in this regard. This is a complete conspiracy, but it is not known who did it.'

Similarly, Deuba has also said in his statement that he reached Baluwatar on the evening of Bhadra 23 and urged the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to lift the ban on social media. He said, 'On Bhadra 23, 2082, I was at my private residence in Basuki Marg, Budhanilkantha Ward No. 2, and that evening I was also present in Baluwatar and requested the then Prime Minister to lift the ban on social media, but I did not participate in any formal meeting.'

Similarly, on Bhadra 24, Deuba said in his statement that protesters entered his residence and assaulted him. He said, 'On Bhadra 24 at 10 am, when protesters gathered at my private residence and shouted slogans, security personnel stopped us and assaulted us and some young men rescued us. We reached a safe place around 10 pm.'

Deuba also said that he does not agree with the political interference in the incident on 23-24. 'Trade unions are a right in a democracy and should be used for practical rights and interests. Student organizations should also be active for the greater good. Non-political institutions or mechanisms in the country should not be politicized. Action should be taken against anyone who vandalizes, loots, or sets fire to property. Policy, legal, and institutional reforms should be made by incorporating the sentiments of the youth in the country,' he said.

The commission has recommended an investigation into the money found in the house of former Prime Minister and then Congress President Deuba.

On 23 Bhadra, 19 people were killed in police firing. The next day, protesters broke through police barricades and reached the Parliament building. Then, important structures including Singha Durbar and the Supreme Court were set on fire.

Even the houses of leaders were vandalized and set on fire. During the vandalization and arson of Deuba's residence, money was found.

The commission has recommended an investigation into the matter to the government. The Money Laundering Department had even visited Deuba's residence a few days after the incident and conducted an investigation. However, details about its progress have not been made public yet.
