Leaders of other parties have said that the special general convention of the Nepali Congress will have a positive impact on Nepali politics.
They say that the special general convention, which began under the leadership of General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma in a 'rebellion' against the Congress establishment, will give a new message to Nepal's national politics.
The leaders of the political parties have called the special general convention held at the invitation of Gagan Vishwa amidst the absence of the establishment party a new experiment in party restructuring. Whether the main leadership of the party wants to transform or not, the rebellion of the youth has created pressure within the party and on other parties for transformation. The rebellion of Gagan Vishwa has paved the way for the transformation of the Congress, so they have taken the special general convention positively.
Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai said that the special general convention of the Congress will play a positive role in the transfer of ideas and leadership. He expressed his belief that the general convention will have a positive impact on Nepali politics by opposing the 'old party'. 'I have viewed this general convention positively. There was old party in the old parties. Now, the third generation of the Congress has tried to transform,' he said, 'The party needs to develop its ideas in line with the times. The general convention has given a clear message that there should be a transformation in ideas and a transfer of leadership.'
Stating that moving forward with the right ideas cannot be called division, he said that the rebellion necessary for transformation should be taken positively. 'Moving forward with the right issue in the fight between right and wrong is not called division,' he said, 'It is wrong to fight for power and be divided. Even if you rebel on the basis of the right principles, it should be called good.'
UML leader Surendra Pandey believed that the special general convention of the Congress would add a new chapter in Nepali politics. He said that the party reorganization should be initiated from the bottom up rather than from the top down in the party.
‘The way the special general convention is proceeding in the Congress will add an important chapter to Nepal’s political events,’ he said, ‘It seems that party restructuring has started from below. I see this as an important step.’
If the Congress moves forward from the special general convention in accordance with the sentiments of the general convention representatives, it will also have an impact on the policy of the Congress. ‘If the general convention elects a leader with a majority, and the commission and the court recognize it, it seems to have a great impact on the policy to be taken,’ he added.
Nepali Communist Party leader Barshaman Pun, however, said that it is not appropriate for the Congress to go into a state of division and said that a way out should be found responsibly. ‘When Nepal’s political situation is in crisis, it is not good for disputes to arise among the big parties, it would have been better if they were resolved internally,’ he said, ‘Let them be resolved responsibly.’ He said that the disputes in the Congress should be resolved in a way that does not negatively affect national politics.
Another UML leader, Binda Pandey, said that the Gagan-Bishwo rebellion should be saluted. ‘I salute the youth of the Congress. The Congress representatives overcame the cold head and shouted against the arrogant and arrogant leadership,’ she said, ‘It is a message that other parties should also change with the times. This will have a positive political message in Nepal.’
She said that she gave the message that ‘the politics of values and beliefs is more important than positions.’ She said that a political crisis has occurred every ten years due to the failure to transfer leadership.
‘The political system has been in a state of collapse due to the failure to accept the transfer of leadership every ten years. Every decade demands a new leadership,’ she added, ‘It has become clear when we reach the Gen-G movement that if we do not transfer leadership with the changing times, we will have to face a political crisis.’
NCP leader Madhav Sapkota said that the youth’s rebellion in the Congress should be taken positively. ‘It was seen that friends have dared to hold a special general convention. It is a positive aspect. It is a strong rebellion,’ he added.
UML central member Niraj Acharya said that it is not good for a democratic party to be weak when democracy is in crisis. ‘A democratic party should not be weak when democracy is in crisis,’ he said, ‘It is appropriate for the Congress to manage the internal conflict and find a proper solution.’
