The Ujjaya Nepal Party, under the patronage of Minister Kulman Ghising, has rejected the proposal that Ravi Lamichhane be the president of the party formed by the merger of new political parties and that Balendra Shah (Balen), currently the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, be the prime minister after the upcoming elections.
A proposal from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Mayor Balen was discussed at the central committee meeting held at Ujjaya Nepal's central office Tripureshwor. A central member informed that the proposal for unity did not include a concrete proposal on the stakes of Patron Kulman Ghising and the party, and that only his own views were included, and that the proposal that Rabi Lamichhane would be the president and Balen would be the next prime minister was rejected.
According to the central member, discussions have been held on continuing efforts for unity among the new political forces. 'In the central committee meeting, it has been stated that a proposal has been made that Rabi will be the party president and Balen will be the next prime minister. Ujjaya Nepal was told that this proposal is not acceptable,' the central member said.
The meeting also discussed the issue of joining hands with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Balendra Shah, informed Ujjaya Nepal's central member Dr. Abhishek Singh. 'Discussions are being held to continue discussions at various stages to continue efforts for unity,' said Singh. Singh is a leader from Ujjaya Nepal participating in the discussions between the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Balen.
