The National Independent Party and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra (Balen) Shah have reached an agreement to run together in the upcoming elections.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders Shishir Khanal and Asim Shah, and Kumar Ben and Bhupdev Shah on behalf of Balen, were busy preparing a draft of the agreement. The first draft of the agreement they prepared has been approved by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) President Ravi Lamichhane and Mayor Balen. According to the information given by the leaders participating in the discussion, both Ravi and Balen have asked to move forward based on the first draft. A leader participating in the discussion said, 'We have shown the first draft to President Lamichhane and Mayor Shah. They have asked to approve the draft of the agreement and move forward. We will finalize it by this evening if possible.' The agreement was also shown to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Vice President Swarnim Wagle.
The agreement mainly concerns the fact that Ravi Lamichhane will remain the president of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and that Balen Shah will become the prime minister if he gets a majority in the parliament after the upcoming elections, the leader informed. 'President Lamichhane has said OK to this matter too. After this approval, we are going to discuss further and finalize it today,' he said.
